HOYLE's DREAM is a further expansion of the themes/moods of its parent album, ACCORDING TO HOYLE
Here our protagonist has returned home. These are perhaps ideas he had over the course of his night out. NOTE: our protagonist is not named Hoyle. The namesake of these albums would be Edmond Hoyle, he who compiled the rules of so many games. But maybe, just maybe, this was Edmond Hoyle's dream after all: that all people should be inspired by the rules of the games, whether it be sport or matters of the heart, so that when we rest at night, we dream of things, big and small, the rules of life and the rules of a lifetime, i.e. the rules that apply to all, and how sometimes following them is rewarding and sometimes breaking them even more so.
